The Fleming County Sheriff's Office is currently accepting applications for the following positions:
* **Full-Time Deputy Sheriff**
* **Part-Time Court Security Officer (CSO)**
* **Part-Time Office Clerk**
**Applications will be accepted through August 21, 2026.**
Full-Time Deputy Sheriff
We are accepting applications from both **new recruits** and **Kentucky certified law enforcement officers**.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
* Must be a U.S. citizen
* Must be at least 21 years of age upon completion of training
* Possess a valid driver's license
* High school diploma or successful completion of a GED examination
* No felony convictions
* Not prohibited by federal or state law from possessing a firearm
* If prior military service, must have received an honorable discharge
**Deputy Recruit Requirements:**
* Successfully complete 80 hours of online training prior to attending the academy
* Successfully complete the 18-week in-person Basic Training Academy at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training
* Pass the required physical fitness test before proceeding to the academy
* Successfully complete a suitability screening, polygraph examination, and background investigation
Part-Time Court Security Officer (CSO)
This position is limited to **no more than 99 hours per month**.
Applicants must:
* Successfully complete an 80-hour Court Security Officer training course at the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Training in Richmond, Kentucky
* Successfully complete a suitability screening, polygraph examination, and background investigation
Part-Time Office Clerk
This position is approximately **2 days per week**, with additional hours possible during property tax collection season.
