On January 22, 2026, at approximately 5:20 a.m., the Fleming County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal single-vehicle collision on Morehead Road (KY 32), near Farris Road, in the Bluebank community.

On January 22, 2026, at approximately 5:20 a.m., the Fleming County Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal single-vehicle collision on Morehead Road (KY 32), near Farris Road, in the Bluebank community.

The investigation indicates that a vehicle operated by Felicia Rose, age 43, of Farris Road, Fleming County, Kentucky, was traveling toward Morehead for work when her vehicle left the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned, ejecting the operator.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported Ms. Rose to Fleming County Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

The Fleming County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Flemingsburg Fire Department and Fleming County EMS. Sheriff Tim Smith and Chief Deputy Rob Conn responded to the incident. The investigation is being led by Chief Deputy Rob Conn and remains ongoing.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ms. Rose’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. We ask the community to please keep the family in their prayers.

On January 11, 2026, at approximately 2:13 a.m., Deputy Dustin Cooper with the Fleming County Sheriff’s Office observed Aaron Black operating a silver Honda CR-V in the Hillsboro Road area.

On January 11, 2026, at approximately 2:13 a.m., Deputy Dustin Cooper with the Fleming County Sheriff’s Office observed Aaron Black operating a silver Honda CR-V in the Hillsboro Road area. Aaron Black was known to have an active arrest warrant.

When deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop, the vehicle fled the area, leaving the roadway and entering a nearby field. The operator abandoned the vehicle and continued to flee on foot into a wooded area. The passenger was detained and confirmed the operator’s identity as Aaron Black. Deputies canvassed the area extensively but were unable to locate him at that time.

At a later date, Aaron Black was observed by deputies and immediately fled on foot. Despite an immediate search, he was not located. Due to these repeated incidents, a criminal complaint was signed for Aaron Black.

On January 18, 2026, the Fleming County Sheriff’s Office received information that Aaron Black had been seen in the area of Ringos Mills Road and Freeman Road. Deputies, including Deputy Dustin Cooper, responded to the area, where Deputy James Welch and K9 Rex located Aaron Black and took him into custody without further incident.

Aaron Black was charged with fleeing or evading police in a motor vehicle, fleeing or evading police on foot, possession of methamphetamine, and additional related charges.

The Fleming County Sheriff’s Office commends Deputy Dustin Cooper, Deputy James Welch, and K9 Rex for their professionalism, persistence, and commitment to public safety. When individuals repeatedly attempt to evade law enforcement, deputies will continue to pursue lawful accountability until the matter is resolved.

All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On Saturday January 17, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Deputy John Adams and Deputy Dustin Cooper responded to the Hillsboro Handi-Mart in reference to an intoxicated male on the premises who was refusing to leave.

On Saturday January 17, 2026, at approximately 5:30 p.m., Deputy John Adams and Deputy Dustin Cooper responded to the Hillsboro Handi-Mart in reference to an intoxicated male on the premises who was refusing to leave.

Upon arrival, deputies identified Trevor Carroll, age 26, who was acting disorderly in the parking lot and appeared to be intoxicated. During their investigation, deputies located evidence indicating Carroll was in possession of controlled substances consistent with trafficking activity.

As a result of the investigation, Trevor Carroll was arrested and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, along with additional related offenses.
