On Tuesday, March 12th, 2024 Jonathan Binder of Flemingsburg was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief 1st degree.

On Tuesday, March 12th, 2024 Jonathan Binder of Flemingsburg was arrested and charged with Criminal Mischief 1st degree. On Sunday, March 10th around 1:22am, Binder intentionally causes damage and breaks multiple windows of an unoccupied, parked police K9 cruiser at the sheriffs office. At approximately 3:36am on Sunday, Binder reports to the Fleming County Sheriffs Office that he observed busted windows of a police SUV. After conducting an Interview with Sheriff Smith, Binder admitted to causing the damage to the cruiser because he was “stressed out.” Binder is currently lodged in Mason County Detention Center. Anyone with information may contact Sheriff Smith at the Fleming County Sheriffs Office.

All parties are considered innocent until proven guilty.

On Friday, January 26th, 2024, Deputy Sheriff James Welch and K9 Partner Rex began investigating drug activity at Crestview trailer park.

On Friday, January 26th, 2024, Deputy Sheriff James Welch and K9 Partner Rex began investigating drug activity at Crestview trailer park. Deputy Welch, along with Deputy Burns, Deputy Horn and Flemingsburg Police Officer T. Moore served a search warrant at the residence. Eric Mitchell was subsequently arrested and charged with the following:

Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st Offense
Cultivating Marijuana < 5 plants, 1st Offense
Drug Paraphernalia – Deliver/Manufacture
Drug Paraphernalia – Buy/possess.

All parties involved are innocent until proven guilty.

At this time, road crews are working very hard to clear off the roads.

At this time, road crews are working very hard to clear off the roads. However, there are still some bad spots and black ice on the roads with more snow predicted In the future. The Sheriff’s office has had several vehicle calls over the course of the early morning hours and evening, due to the harsh driving conditions. If it can wait, please remember not to risk your safety or the safety of others by driving during this time. The Fleming County Sheriff’s Office will continue to patrol and respond to calls for service.
