The Fleming County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Charles Timmins of Vanceburg or Cody Timmins of Ewing.
A wallet belonging to Mr. Timmins has been found and turned in to the Fleming County Sheriff’s Office.
If you know Mr. Timmins or have a way to contact him, please ask him to contact our office so we can arrange for the return of his property.

ARREST MADE FOLLOWING STABBING INVESTIGATION
On July 11, 2026, at approximately 11:00 p.m., law enforcement responded to a report of a stabbing victim in Flemingsburg.
During the initial investigation, it was determined that Joseph Howell allegedly stabbed another individual multiple times. The victim was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital for treatment. The victim’s identity is not being released at this time.
Following the investigation, Joseph Howell was located earlier today and was arrested without incident by Sheriff Tim Smith. He was lodged in the Mason County Detention Center.
This case remains under active investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
Sheriff Tim Smith stated:
“This marks the second violent incident our community has experienced this weekend, following the recent shooting investigation. The safety and security of the citizens of Fleming County remain our highest priority. We will continue working alongside our law enforcement partners to thoroughly investigate violent crimes, hold offenders accountable, and do everything possible to keep our community safe.”
All persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
ARREST MADE FOLLOWING SHOTS FIRED INVESTIGATION
During the early morning hours of July 11, 2026, the Fleming County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired on Elizaville Road. Investigators determined that a vehicle had been struck by a bullet, placing the three occupants at risk of serious physical injury.
As a result of the investigation, Kurtis Godsey was arrested and charged with three counts of Wanton Endangerment, First Degree.
The investigation remains active and is being led by Deputy Dustin Cooper, who was assisted by Sgt. Aaron Workman and Officer Hunter Hicks of the Flemingsburg Police Department. Anyone with additional information related to this incident is encouraged to contact the Fleming County Sheriff’s Office.

Some days in law enforcement are tougher than others, and you never know what you’ll face when the call comes in.
Today, Deputy Logan Mullins responded to an injury accident on Mt. Sterling Road. While helping those involved, he found himself doing something that wasn’t in any training manual, comforting and caring for a baby in the middle of a difficult situation.
It’s a reminder that this job is about much more than enforcing the law. Our deputies are called upon to protect, serve, comfort, and help people through some of the worst moments of their lives.
We are thankful for Deputy Mullins’ compassion and professionalism, and we ask everyone to keep those involved in today’s accident in your thoughts as they recover.
🚨 MISSING PERSON – PLEASE HELP 🚨
The Flemingsburg Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating 69-year-old Debra Wireman, who was last seen on June 17, 2026, at approximately 4:30 PM in Aberdeen, Ohio, while traveling toward Maysville, Kentucky.
Debra was driving a white 2020 Kia Forte with front-end damage. Family and friends are concerned for her welfare, and every share and set of eyes can make a difference.

On Friday, June 12th, 2006, Sheriff Tim Smith observed a vehicle leaving a residence on Helena Road known to law enforcement for suspected drug activity. A traffic stop was conducted, and during the investigation, deputies located substances believed to be fentanyl and methamphetamine on passenger Jimmy Wallace.
After cooperating with law enforcement, Wallace provided information that led to the issuance of a search warrant for the residence.
Sheriff Smith and Chief Deputy Rob Conn, assisted by Flemingsburg Police Department Officer Chris Moore and FCSO Reserve Deputy Hill, executed the search warrant. During the search, officers located additional suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine, along with drug paraphernalia including digital scales, packaging materials, cash, syringes (loaded, used, and unused), and tourniquets commonly used as tie offs.
Jesshia Mattox and Ashley Foster were arrested at the scene. Both were charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, First Degree (Methamphetamine), Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, First Degree (Fentanyl), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Ashley Foster was additionally charged with Giving Officer False Identifying Information. She was also served with multiple outstanding warrants and was later charged with Promoting Contraband while lodged at the Mason County Detention Center.
Sheriff Smith stated, “The recent overdose deaths and overdoses in our community and surrounding counties are a tragic reminder of the danger fentanyl poses. Fentanyl continues to be one of the greatest threats facing our communities. We will continue to aggressively investigate those who traffic dangerous drugs in Fleming County and work to hold offenders accountable.”
